The Ghost of Sadie Worth

The Ghost of Sadie Worth (previusly called The Ghost of Mary Worth) is a story about kids messing around in a cemetery on Halloween. I wrote it specifically for The Dunesteef Audio Fiction Magazine October Scary Story Event.

Update: On Monday, December 1, 2008, I received word that the Dunesteef Audio Fiction Magazine is going to publish my story as a podcast. They asked me to change the ending a little. They also asked that I rename the story since there was already a long-standing comic strip called Mary Worth. That's what led to the name change, but when I was growing up in Iowa, we used to go to the cemetery and chant "I believe in Mary Worth." I'm not sure when it will be published, but I'm hoping in January or February of 2009.

Note: if you don't want to go to the Dunesteef website, you can listen to it by clicking here.

Update: On Friday, February 6, 2009, Dunesteef Audio Fiction Magazine published my short story, The Ghost of Sadie Worth as a free podcast. Go out to their website give it a listen or download it onto you MP3 player. I hope you enjoy it.

Update: On Friday, March 27, 2009, I started re-submitting The Ghost of Sadie Worth for a possible second publication. Check back here for the status.

Update: I sent The Ghost of Sadie Worth off to House of Horror on Saturday, October 31, 2009 (Halloween) at about 1:10pm my time. By 6:25pm, I had a response. It was accepted for publication! It will be published in Issue #8 out January 1, 2010!
