The Second Passover is my 2007 NaNoWriMo novel. I finished it on November 25th, 2007, coming in at 53,162 words. I thought it was going to fall short of the 50,000 word goal of NaNoWriMo so I added a Second Book to the novel. Now I see that the second book is short so I just need to work in that material during the editing.

The Second Passover is a post-apocalyptic — sort of — novel where Jon Farlow wakes up to find that everyone is gone. He finds beds that are unmade and clothes that are in heaps beside the beds, like people got into bed and then just disappeared.

I finished the first draft of The Second Passover on November 25th, 2007 with 53,162 words and 216 pages.

Okay, so I have to admit, The Second Passover has potential but needs work. My wife, Maria, has read it, and she agrees. She tells me there's a lot of promise there but it's a little disjoined. Part of that is because I finished it early at 40-something-thousand words. Since this was a NaNoWriMo novel, I wanted to keep going. That's where I made my mistake. I've added some stuff that I like, but it's obviously disjoined. It will take some work to flush it out. I do like it though and I'll probably come back to polish it. Stay tuned!

An Excerpt from The Second Passover

I woke up to what would become the worst day of my life as if it were any other day.
