The National Novel Writing Month -
November 2011

Like last year, I've decided to go into NaNoWriMo 2011 without a plan. I have a general idea about what I'm going to write about, but nothing definite. Last year didn't turn out so well, though I did make it 50,000 words. Hopefully this year works out better. I'm tenatively calling my novel "Cody's Revenge," but that will probably change. I will say it's a sequel to A New Witch.
The goal of NaNoWriMo is to write a 50,000 word novel during the month of November. That comes out to about 1,667 words a day. Or if you want to look at it another way, it's about 200 pages, double-spaced. This page is my diary of my NaNoWriMo progress for this year.

I got smart this year. I took today off from work so I could concentrate on my new novel. And I'm glad I did. I had a general idea about what the story I'm trying to tell, but a lot was flushed out today about my characters and the parts they're playing. I'm tenatively calling the novel "Cody's Revenge," but I don't think that will stick over the next 30 days. Something a little more clever will come to me before it's over.

I didn't get a chance to write today until late in the evening. Still, I made it to my goal though it was after 10:00pm by the time I did. I wrote 1,719 words for a total of 3,521. It's going well.
