Male Order
Male Order is a story based on what a woman will do so that she won't be lonely. It was an idea I got at work in a coversation with two of my co-workers. On top of that, it's really my first piece that has sex in it. It's not erotic, but it is somewhat graphic. But it's not gratuitous. Once you read the story, I think that you'll agree that it has to be there.
Unusual Development — A co-worker of mine read this story and then asked me if I'd ever seen the movie Lars and the Real Girl. I hadn't. She told me that Male Order was a lot like Lars and the Real Girl. So I went out and rented the movie.
I have to admit that there are a lot of similarities. The main story line is different, but some of the details setting up the story are similar. I'm actually a bit disappointed. This story came out so good, but I'm not sure if I'm going to send it off to try to get it published or not. Time will tell. I'm going to let it sit for now.
Update: On Monday, April 13, 2009, I received word from Sinister Tales that my short story, Male Order has been accepted for publication and will be appearing in their next issue, Volume 4.3!
