Black Magic

Black Magic came out of a twenty-minute writing exercise I did with my writing group on December 3, 2008. I had to ask for a couple of extra minutes, but by the time I was done I had a complete story.

It's about a kid who gets pissed off at his math teacher and wants to use Black Magic to get even with her.

Update: On March 27, 2009, Clonepod.org announced that they were taking a hiatus, with no definite word on when they were coming back. I waited patiently and then sent a status request on Saturday, December 5, 2009. I hope they're coming back and still want to publish Black Magic

Update: On Tuesday, February 8, 2010, I withdrew BLack Magic for publication from Clonepod. Right after they accepted this story, they stopped producing podcasts. They said they were going to wait until they could create audios with better quality. I queried them for a status in early December but didn't receive a response, so I'm going to send this out to other markets. I'm a little disappointed because I really liked Clonepod. Maybe they'll come back and I'll be able to submit something else to them. I wish them all the best.

Update: Pow Fast Flash Fiction accepted this story on Saturday, February 27, 2010. It was published later the same day and can be viewed here.
