Welcome to my web site! My name is Doug McIntire, a central Texas author living in the Austin area.
I use this web site to promote my writing, which I've been doing off and on for most of my adult life. I started in about 1989, my early writing consisting of poetry and short stories. In November 2006, I began writing novels, using the National Novel Writing Month (you can find out more about NaNoWriMo by going to the Writer's Resources page) as a catalyst.
Since I've started writing novels, I've completed six of them. Two of my novels, A New Witch and The Life of Larry, have been edited and I'm shopping them around for an agent and to get published.
The other four novels are still in first draft, ready to start editing. The problem is that I like to write more than I like to edit, so I'm apt to go on with the next writing project before I edit these. I also have several ideas for other novels and short stories that are in the works. Stay tuned to see what my next project is going to be. Visit My Writing to see the current status of all of my projects.
Please feel free to look around. I will be updating it often, so come back and see what's changed. I have lots of plans for the site, so expect it to change frequently.
